Every day, people around the world are affected by Parkinson’s Disease (PD), a condition that impacts movement, independence, and overall quality of life. With Parkinson’s Awareness Month coming up in April and World Parkinson’s Day on April 11, we’re taking this opportunity to shine a light on PD. This month is a chance to raise awareness, show our support and encourage those living with the condition.
At ERRS, we are committed to helping individuals stay active, strong and independent. This is especially important for those living with Parkinson’s Disease. We understand the challenges PD presents and our specialised exercise and education programs are designed to empower our community to live well, move with confidence and maintain strength for daily activities.
Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement. It is characterised by four key motor symptoms:
With an average of 50 Australians diagnosed every day, PD is the second most common neurological disease in the country after dementia. While there is currently no cure, early intervention and the right management strategies can help individuals maintain their independence and quality of life.
Exercise is one of the most effective ways to manage Parkinson’s Disease. Studies have shown that physical activity can slow disease progression, improve mobility and enhance overall well-being. At ERRS, we are dedicated to supporting individuals with PD through tailored exercise programs designed to improve strength, balance and coordination.
We are proud to offer PD Fight Club, a specialised exercise program created for individuals living with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders. This class focuses on strength training, boxing-inspired workouts and mobility drills.
PD Fight Club provides a safe, supportive environment where participants can build confidence in movement, improve physical function and connect with others on a similar journey.
